Do I need Home Insurance?
Although you are not legally required to have home insurance, if you want to safeguard your investment, it’s important to obtain this type of insurance. It may also be a requirement of your mortgage provider to have home isnurance and you should check any requirements they may have in this regard.

What's the difference between Buildings Insurance and Contents Insurance?
Buildings Insurance covers the property itself, and any outbuildings and garages within 100 metres of the property. It also provides protection for fixtures and fittings in the building, such as a fitted wardrobe, built in appliances or hardwood floors. Contents Insurance covers ‘moveable’ items such as ornaments, free standing furniture, and carpets.
Which insurer underwrites my policy?
Our Buildings and Contents policies are underwritten by various major insurers including AXA, Legal and General, RSA, GEO and UK General. We will notify you of the specific insurer when we provide you with a quotation and again prior to inception of your policy.
What does new for old mean?
If an item has been damaged and cannot be economically repaired, we’ll replace it with a new one of similar quality.
Is there an excess fee?
There may be excesses to pay and you can chose the excess levels during your quotation.
Can I cancel my policy?
Yes. You can cancel your policy at any time by calling or writing to us on the details shown in the policy documents. If having taken out a policy and after examining it, you decide not to continue with it you have a statutory right to cancel. During this cooling off period you can cancel the policy back to the start date without charge and with a full refund of any premiums already paid, unless you have made a claim during this period.
