A Freedom of Information Request by the Residential Landlords Association has discovered the shocking time it is taking to get an eviction hearing. On average it is taking 30 weeks to get a hearing for both Section 8 and Section 21 hearings in London. This is an increase of 7 weeks.
The north-east of England does not fare much better with the average time at 23.5 weeks.
These timescales are likely to get worse with planned banning of ‘no fault’ evictions.
