This cover product provides financial protection from a variety of risks and events to which your possessions may be exposed. The cover provides Contents Insurance and Tenants Liability Insurance. You also have the option to select Full Accidental Damage to Contents, Worldwide Belongings cover and optional Tenants Legal Expenses cover is also available. The cover you have chosen including your sum insured, limits and excesses can be found in your policy documentation.

To supply us with information that, to the best of your knowledge is correct, in response to the questions asked when applying for, amending or renewing this insurance
Pay the amounts shown in the policy documentation for each period of insurance

Some items, such as jewellery and precious metals, often change in value and you should make certain that these items are insured correctly

You can choose to pay in full before commencement of cover, or agree to pay using the monthly facility. You can choose to pay by credit card, debit card, annual Direct Debit or monthly Direct Debit. No charge is made for annual payments by card or Direct Debit, but paying monthly by Direct Debit will incur a charge for credit. The full amount to pay for this policy is shown in the policy documents.

The maximum you can claim for loss of money is £500
The escape of water or oil excess is £250 or your chosen excess, whichever is higher
For all other claims your chosen excess will apply
Exclusions apply where there is loss or damage where your home is unoccupied for more than 60 days in a row
Cover for Worldwide Belongings is provided year-round in the United Kingdom and anywhere else in the world for up to 60 days in total during the period of insurance

Do I need Tenant Contents Insurance?

Our Tenants Contents Insurance policy has been designed to meet the specific needs of those living in a rented property. In addition to providing cover for the tenant’s personal belongings, the policy also includes tenants’ liability insurance which means the policyholder is also protected should they need to cover the cost of any accidental damage to the landlord’s fixtures and fittings.

Tenants also have access to a range of optional extras including cover for full accidental damage to their contents, worldwide belongings cover and legal expenses cover.

Who is the insurer of the Tenants Contents cover?

Our Tenants Contents cover is underwritten by a panel of cherry picked insurers consisting of Axa and UK General.

Who should I contact in the event of a claim?

In the event of a claim, you should contact the underwriter which will be detailed on your certificate of insurance.

Can I transfer my No Claims Discount from another policy?

Yes. If there is more than one person named on the policy with two different NCD, the higher can be used.

Who is covered under the policy?

The policy covers you, your partner and any other person permanently living with you under the tenancy agreement (including any children or foster children). The policy does not cover lodgers or other tenants not covered under the tenancy agreement.

What is the cooling off period for the cover?

There’s a 14 day cooling off period from the start of the policy. In the event of cancellation after the cooling off period, a pro rata refund will be given if no claim has been made.

What is the most I can claim for one item?

The most you can claim for any one valuable is £2,500 unless the item is specified on the policy.

Is business equipment covered?

Business equipment is covered up to the sum insured for clerical work only. Business equipment is defined as computer equipment, printers, photocopiers, computer aided design equipment, office furniture and furnishings and telecommunications equipment used in any way for business purposes. This does not include any property held as stock.
